Mr. C. Gururaj Rao, Consul General of India

Mr. C. Gururaj Rao, a member of the Indian Foreign Service, took over charge as the Consul General of India, Birmingham on November 16, 2009.  He joined the Ministry of External Affairs in 1983 and has served in Indian Missions in Mauritius, Kenya , Portugal and Nepal in various capacities. 

Mr. Rao has served as Consul General of India in Birgunj (Nepal) from 2004 – 2007.  Before being posted to Birmingham, he was Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi.
